Divine Mercy
Chủ Nhật, Ngày 13 tháng 9-2015
Well today is the day!  It was 80 years ago today, September 13, 1935, that the Lord sent us a powerful message through two things: 1) a vision and 2) a prayer, both given to St. Faustina in Poland, but both speaking loudly to us today.

The vision was that of an Angel, "the executor of divine wrath" about to strike the earth for its sinfulness.  Although she pleaded with the Angel to "hold off for a few moments, and the world would do penance", her plea "was a mere nothing in the face of the divine anger."  How often we have heard that the "cup is overflowing"?  How often have we heard that the "time of mercy" is about to end?

Enter the prayer.

Thanks and glory be to God, words are placed upon the soul of St. Faustina that render the Angel powerless.  The saint is instructed exactly how to recite these words on the beads of the rosary and to say this prayer every time she enters the chapel.  From that point on, Jesus encourages St. Faustina many times to recite the Chaplet for all kinds of reasons and often times shows her the blessings that were obtained by means of her obedience to these requests.  He tells her to encourage others to pray it too, and attaches several promises to the recitation of this beautiful prayer.  Why?

The Chaplet of Mercy is at its core, an extension of the Holy Mass.  Remembering this is the most important part of praying the Chaplet.

At every Mass we are gifted with the grace of being present at the Last Supper, of being present at the foot of the Cross at Calvary.  When we recite the Chaplet of Mercy we are offering our Blessed Lord's sacrifice, up to God the Father, in atonement for our sins, and those of the entire world.  Jesus did not die in vain, and we lowly souls are offered the opportunity to lift up this sacrifice in our hearts and minds in prayer, lifting up the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our brother the Christ, to our Eternal Father.  This is what makes this prayer so powerful.  This is why the Lord blesses us and our intentions when we pray it.

So,on this 80th anniversary, let us take some time to contemplate the mystery behind the shedding of Christ's blood on the Cross.  Let us contemplate the mystery of the Holy Mass.  And let these mystery be embedded in our souls, so that every time we pray the Chaplet we are more aware of what we are truly participating in and in what we are truly saying.  We are given a clue to all of this early in St. Faustina's Diary.  We conclude with entry 39 for your contemplation and spiritual growth:

One day Jesus told me that He would cause a chastisement to fall upon the most beautiful city in our country.  This chastisement would be that with which God had punished Sodom and Gomorrah.  I saw the great wrath of God and a shudder pierced my heart. I prayed in silence.  After a moment Jesus said to me, My child, unite yourself closely to Me during the Sacrifice and offer My Blood and My Wounds to My Father in expiation for the sins of that city.  Repeat this without interruption throughout the entire Holy Mass. Do this for seven days.

On the seventh day I saw Jesus in a bright cloud and began to beg Him to look upon the city and upon our whole country.  Jesus looked down graciously.  When I saw the kindness of Jesus, I began to beg His blessing.  Immediately Jesus said, For your sake I bless the entire country.  And He made a big sign of the cross over our country.  Seeing the goodness of God, a great joy filled my soul.

Three Part Series on the Chaplet of Mercy Delivers Big

In honor of the 80th Anniversary of the Chaplet of Mercy, we recently published a three part series of blogs on the subject with the goal in mind to bring more souls to come to know and understand and receive the graces it has to offer.  Much of the information presented has only recently come to light or been little known.  Here you will find the dots connected between why Jesus came to Poland in the 1930's and why this prayer and devotion to The Divine Mercy is so critical today.
Even if you have been promoting the message for decades you owe it to yourself to read this material, and you owe it to others to share it.  Tools and resources to do so are literally at your finger tips, just click on the links below to take you directly to each article, or you  find them on the BLOG page of DivineMercyforAmerica.org.  Use the convenient buttons to post this info on your favorite social network!
